For the past year, Servco has been working towards creating a workplace environment that encourages a more productive, healthier, and happier life, both at work and at home. At the recent Blue Zone Well Being Summit, Servco Mapunapuna was recognized as a Blue Zones Project Approved Worksite.
This award and achievement is an acknowledgement of the steps Servco has, and is continuing to take, to create a workplace environment focused on the well-being of our team members. Some examples of these steps are providing flexible workstations, a space for nursing mothers, biometric screenings, financial well-being tools, social activities for family and friends, and volunteer opportunities. Servco Mapunapuna is one of only 39 locations on Oahu that have achieved this milestone.
Under the leadership of Servco’s Wellbeing Champions Team, numerous initiatives have been implemented to improve the company’s workplace environment. Servco Mapunapuna served as the company’s pilot location for the Blue Zones Project and is planned on being rolled out at other locations.
“Becoming a Blue Zones Project Approved Worksite is a great accomplishment towards improving the workplace for our team members at Servco,” said Peter Hirano, senior vice president of Human Resources at Servco. “When our team members are happy and healthy, it also means the people around us, including our customers, are happy.”
The Blue Zones Project® is a community-led wellbeing initiative designed to make healthy choices easier in Hawaii. The locations we work in play a key role in this initiative as we spend at least 40% of our week at work.
