Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation Awards 10 Recipients for 2024-2025 Academic Year

The Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation announced 10 Hawaiʻi high school graduates as recipients of the prestigious Fukunaga Scholarship for the 2024-2025 academic year. Awardees attended the annual mixer held at Servco’s Administrative Office.

Every year, the Foundation awards scholarships totaling over $185,000 to students in the state of Hawaiʻi who plan to pursue a degree in business administration or a related field. Students are selected based on financial need, academic standing, and leadership ability. Each recipient receives $20,000 over four years (or a pro-rated amount over fewer years) to cover tuition, fees, books, and housing.  

Supporting the next generation of young business professionals is crucial to Hawaiʻi’s future, said Mark Fukunaga, Trustee of the Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation. “We are thrilled to stand behind these 10 outstanding students on their journeys to become leaders in our community.”  

The 2024-2025 Fukunaga Scholarship recipients are:  

  • Conrad Cao, Punahou School – Georgetown University 
  • Koa Chang, Kamehameha Schools – KapālamaStanford University 
  • Kayuga de Guzman, Waialua High School – University of Pennsylvania 
  • Tate Goodman, Punahou School – University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa 
  • Kylee Hamamoto, Punahou School – Yale University 
  • Chanel Higa, Baldwin High School – University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa 
  • Dustin Kealoha, Kamehameha Schools – Kapālama – Dartmouth College 
  • Josuna Kinsey, Kaimuki High School – Georgetown University 
  • Harmony Powers, Seabury Hall – Babson College 
  • Sean Serville, Kamehameha Schools – Hawaiʻi – Santa University 

About the Fukanaga Scholarship Foundation

Founded in 1950 by Peter Fukunaga, the founder of Servco Pacific Inc., the Fukunaga Scholarship Foundation offers scholarships to Hawaii residents pursuing degrees in Business by earning an undergraduate degree at any accredited four-year college or university. Four-year scholarships are awarded to students in increments of $5,000 annually. Over its 74-year history, the Foundation has supported over 500 students, with 38 students currently enrolled in colleges and universities nationwide.
