Last weekend, Team Serve, Servco’s employee-led community service group, had the opportunity to join a community work day at Paepae o Heʻeia, hosted by Mark Noguchi, in celebration of his birthday.
Team Serve lifted and moved pohaku (lava rocks), cleared out chopped branches for chipping, and weeded in the loʻi and marsh. These were all in efforts to care for the Heʻeia Fishpond – a resource of cultural, intellectual, physical, and spiritual sustenance for the community.
