LIHUE – Servco Auto Kauai is providing at least one Toyota Tacoma to help the Hawaii Food Bank – Kauai branch respond to the community’s immediate need to ramp up food delivery services to local kupuna. Beginning this week, Servco Auto Kauai will donate the truck for at least 30 days to assist with the Mayor’s Kupuna Kare for Farmer Fare Program. Through the program, fresh produce is purchased from farmers displaced by the county farmer’s market closure and then delivered to the homes of kupuna, our most vulnerable age group.
“It’s important that we all do what we can to deliver help where it’s needed during times of uncertainty,” said Mark Fukunaga, chairman & CEO of Servco Pacific. “As a company that empowers movement, one thing we can do is provide vehicles that are necessary to deliver essential services to our community. We encourage all businesses to put Aloha in action to help flatten the curve.”
“Prior to Servco Auto Kauai providing us the use of their Toyota Tacoma, we only had one delivery van,” said Wes Perreira, director of the Hawaii Foodbank – Kauai Branch. “This is truly a blessing and we appreciate Servco’s commitment to the Kauai community.”
