Servco Subaru Kaimuki Holds Blessing Ceremony

Servco Subaru Kaimuki held a blessing and grand opening ceremony for its new location. This new property gives the dealership an additional 6,651 square feet, including four new service bays and one alignment rack. Eight new positions have also been added to the Servco Subaru Kaimuki team. Currently only the sales area is open. Permitting is still in progress to operate as a service facility.

10th Annual Servco School Supply Drive Gears Up First Grade Students for the School Year

This year marked the 10th Annual Servco School Supply Drive, where Team Servco collected thousands of school supplies to support the first graders of three lucky elementary schools. Kalihi Uka, Kahuku, and Makaha Elementary were selected as this year’s recipients and received a backpack full of school essentials to start their year off on a positive note. What the Makaha Elementary first graders, faculty, and staff weren’t expecting was a donation of over $3,000 in technology supplies. After hearing about a recent string of burglaries, Servco employees decided to use excess funds from the school supply drive to help replace some of the items that were stolen over the summer.

Subaru Hawaii’s First Ride & Drive Event Donates Over 100 Books to Hawaii Public Libraries

Subaru Hawaii kicked off its first Ride and Drive event at Kahala Mall this year with great success. Over 60 customers got the opportunity to test drive Subaru models, like the popular 2018 Forester, Crosstrek, Outback and Impreza. During the event, over a hundred gently used books were collected from shoppers and donated to the Friends of the Library of Hawaii to support the fifty public libraries across the state of Hawaii.

Servco Foundation Announces Recipients of its $60,000 Community Grant Program

The Servco Foundation presented three $20,000 grants to Kids Hurt Too Hawaii, HUGS (Help, Understanding & Group Support), and the Hawaiian Humane Society as part of its Community Grant Program. The Foundation received nearly 2,000 public nominations for over 80 nonprofit organizations serving the areas of Youth Services, Special Needs, and Animals in Hawaii. The donations were made via Aloha United Way.

Team Servco Volunteers at 2018 Special Olympics of Hawaii Summer Games

Team Servco cheered on over 1,100 athletes from across the state at the 2018 Special Olympics of Hawaii Summer Games. Athletes participated in a variety of events including powerlifting, softball, swimming, and track & field. This year's event was extra special as it marked the organization's 50th year of competition. Team Servco members supported the track & field awards tents, where they were provided the opportunity to celebrate each athlete's accomplishments. Awards were presented to athletes atop a podium, with the assistance of Honolulu Police Officers.

On a recent trip to Japan, Mark Fukunaga, Chairman & CEO, accepted a sales award on behalf of Subaru Hawaii, presented by Katsuyuki Mizuma, Subaru’s Corporate Executive Vice President, Chief General Manager, Overseas Sales & Marketing Division. Since Servco’s acquisition of the distributorship in 2007, Subaru Hawaii has shown YOY unit sales increases with 2017 representing an all-time high.

Servco Pacific Inc. was recognized at Aloha United Way’s (AUW) 2018 Spirit of the Community Award Ceremony, recognizing nearly 50 business, labor, government, and nonprofit organizations that have demonstrated exceptional community support during their annual giving campaign. Servco’s AUW Coordinators, Michelle Lacuesta and Ken Hashimoto, received the Laulima Award under the Large Companies category for demonstrating exceptional leadership of an individual or group in coordinating their workplace’s giving campaign.

Toyota-Technical Education Program Celebrates Opening Ceremony at Leeward Community College

Members of Team Servco, Leeward Community College (Leeward CC), and the surrounding community gathered at the Automotive Technology Complex to commemorate the grand opening of the Toyota-Technical Education Program (T-TEP). Through the partnership, Toyota Hawaii donated over $80,000 worth of training aids to Leeward CC’s Automotive Technology program in the first year, with additional equipment to be added each following year. Additionally, students at Leeward CC will be eligible for a T-TEP scholarship, which provides a full scholarship, $2,000 tool kit, and part-time employment with Toyota Hawaii.

The Toyota Hawaii booth drew much attention from thousands of visitors at the inaugural Noodle Festival which took place on Saturday on Auahi Street. The Noodle Festival proved to be a great community partnership for Toyota Hawaii as visitors were able to experience all things Toyota. Toyota Hawaii chopsticks were a hit for the attendees, who also had a chance to check out the 2018 Tacoma and Corolla on display.

Toyota Hawaii made a sweet impression at Windward Mall on Saturday, February 24th, with an ice cream parlor themed Ride & Drive event featuring the 2018 Camry, C-HR, and RAV4. Toyota Hawaii transformed a vacant storefront into a colorful lounge where participants were treated to ice cream and a toppings bar. The event saw over 30 test drives!

Each year students compete in various competitions in the business, culinary, industrial arts, hospitality, medical, and automotive fields. The winners travel to the mainland to compete on a national level. This year, Servco helped sponsor the conference.

Subaru Hawaii’s Share the Love Sales Campaign Benefits Six Local Nonprofits

Subaru Hawaii launched its seventh annual “Share the Love” campaign last November, which donated $30,000 to six local nonprofit organizations across the state. From November 1 through December 31, 2017, Subaru Hawaii donated $250 for every new vehicle purchased in Hawaii, up to $30,000. The profits were divided among the six nonprofits.

Students from Lanai went on a whale-watching expedition from Manele Harbor for the first time with the Pacific Whale Foundation. Approximately 460 students in kindergarten to 12th grade from Lanai High and Elementary School went on free trips led by certified marine naturalists, thanks to the generosity of Servco Foundation and other donors.

Subaru Hawaii recently partnered with the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Honolulu, as an Annual Chapter Platinum sponsor. To commence this year’s sponsorship, Subaru Hawaii hosted the AIA’s Young Architects Forum (YAF) kickoff pau hana event at the Servco Home and Appliance Showroom. New and existing members of YAF attended the mixer, where Subaru Hawaii and SHAD both offered gifts and special discounts exclusive to AIA/YAF members. The showroom involved its Monogram indoor pizza oven, as catering included a ‘build your own pizza’ station.

For over 10 years, Servco has had the opportunity to partner with Parents and Children Together (PACT) and provide gifts to the keiki who are under the umbrella of PACT, Early Intervention, and Family Strengthening Services. This past year a special request came in from PACT as they were hoping to fulfill the wishes of nearly 700 keiki for this year’s Giving Tree Program. Of the 700 keiki, Servco donated gifts to 500 of them, a company record.

Servco was excited to begin a partnership with Leeward Community College’s Auto Technology program as they awarded the first ever T-TEP scholarship to LCC student, Mark Balasbas.

Team Servco members were out in the community, volunteering with Palama Settlement to deliver gift bags to senior residents living in Mayor Wright Housing. Kahala Nui Senior Living provided hundreds of gift bags stuffed with necessities including toiletries, canned goods, and a fleece blanket that Team Servco was able to walk door-to-door and present to the residents. Hugs and smiles were shared all around. The day was a great way to kick-off the holiday season.

Over 70 Team Servco members came together to serve a Hawaiian dinner to 2,000 foster children and their families at the 17th Annual Holiday Party for Foster Keiki. This magical event was put on by Family Programs Hawaii, and brought siblings, often separated through the foster system, together for one special day of entertainment, activities, food, fellowship, and even a personalized gift from Santa.

On Friday, June 30th, when a single-engine plane crashed into a stream just in front of Moanalua Gardens, Mackenzie Young, from Servco Toyota Honolulu, was one of the first respondents on the scene. Recently he was presented with several prestigious awards, including a Certificate of Commendation and Certificate of Merit, by the Honolulu Fire Department and Council Members.

Santa Paws came to town on November 18 & 19 at the Hawaiian Humane Society. For a $30 donation to the Hawaiian Humane Society, each family received a portrait sitting with a photographer and digital copies of their image. And, best of all, Subaru Hawaii waived pet adoption fees so there were some very happy animals.

Servco Foundation partnered with AccesSurf for their Day at the Beach, a free monthly program open to anyone with a physical or cognitive disability. Team Serve, Servco’s employee-led community service group, volunteered at the event at White Plains Beach. Subaru Hawaii Ambassador Carissa Moore made the day extra special and was out in the water sharing her passion for the ocean and teaching the participants how to surf. Members of Team Serve, Servco’s employee-led community service group, volunteered at the 2017 Hawaiian Humane Society PetWalk held at Magic Island. Approximately 2,500 people and their pets participated in the 27th annual charity event, which raised over $290,000 that will assist with Hawaii’s animals. The event featured two courses, a short course and a long course, followed by activities including a pet costume and float contest, live entertainment, food, and more.

Servco Home and Appliance Distribution recently had the opportunity to get involved in addressing the homeless issue on Oahu. On the former paintball field at the end of the Nimitz viaduct, houses are being built that will eventually become Kahauiki Village, an affordable, plantation-style community designed for homeless families that will become a community for over 600 people. Servco Home and Appliance Distribution will be donating refrigerators, ranges, and hoods to the project.

Christian West of Honolulu won a 2017 RX 350 at the Make-A-Wish Hawaii Swings for Wishes Annual Golf Tournament. West, a former Kamehameha Schools head wrestling coach, won the luxury utility vehicle by making a hole-in-one at hole C7 of the Hawaii Prince Golf Course in Ewa Beach. This was Servco Lexus’ second year as the Hole-in-One Sponsor at the annual MAWH fundraiser which has raised over $800,000 in past years, helping to grant dozens of wishes over the last decade to Hawaii’s keiki with life threatening medical conditions.

A morning walk around Mapunapuna kicked off the first Servco Bring Your Dog to Work Day. Over 20 dogs, big and small, accompanied their human companions for a special day at the Servco Corporate Office. Servco team members took photos with their furry friends, and received a personalized gift for both dog and owner. Those who were unable to bring their dogs to work got to cool down with a complimentary Slush Puppie treat, offered by the Frozen Fun Mobile to all Mapunapuna guests and employees.

9th Annual Servco School Supply Drive Provides Classroom Essentials to Hundreds of First-Graders

Aiea, Waianae, and Waimanalo Elementary schools were selected to receive donations from the 9th Annual Servco School Supply Drive. Each year Servco team members from all divisions come together to meet a donation goal, and vote on the schools that will receive the supplies. Over 200 backpacks were stuffed with binders, composition notebooks, portfolios, and cases of scissors, glue, erasers, pencils, pens, and much more by Servco volunteers. On the first day of school, each first-grader at the three schools were presented with a backpack, full of the supplies.

Toyota Dream Car Art Contest Selects Two Hawaii Finalists for a Trip to Japan

It was a successful 6th year for the Toyota Hawaii Dream Car Art Contest, as two winners from the local competition, Aja Middleton and Sophia Stark, were chosen out of over 800,000 worldwide entries as winners of the Toyota Dream Car World Competition. Both winners won an all-expenses paid trip to Japan. Aja took home the top prize in the under 8 years old age category, with her “Adult Play Car,” while Sophie Stark also won her age category with her “Toyota Seeds of Memory Car.”

Servco Auto Center was awarded in multiple categories of this year’s ‘Hawaii’s Best’ listing by the Star-Advertiser. Servco Lexus was a proud sponsor of the 3rd Annual Waffles for Wishes brunch, presented by Make-A-Wish Hawaii’s Young Leaders Board. The event brought together companies within the community to raise funds and help grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions. 4-year old superhero enthusiast Nainoa began a fight for his life last Mother’s Day when he was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. After recently completing his treatments, Nainoa celebrated this milestone at the event, where his wish to go to Disneyland with his family was granted.

Over 1,100 athletes from across the State came together at the University of Hawaii at Manoa for the 2017 Special Olympics of Hawaii Summer Games, marking the event’s 49th year of competition. The weekend showcased the athletes’ abilities in powerlifting, softball, swimming, and track and field. Team Servco joined over 2,500 other volunteers and assisted in the track and field awards tents, where members had the opportunity to interact and engage with each athlete in their moment of success.

Kapaa High School senior Makai Baker, the only Kauai representative in the SkillsUSA Hawaii Competition, beat out more than 20 students to place first in the automotive troubleshooting-based contest held on Oahu. Servco Auto Kauai’s VP & General Manager, Chris Yoo, who is a graduate of Kapaa High School, jumped on the opportunity to sponsor the local boy when he heard about his victory. Makai was presented with a check for $1,000 from Servco Auto Kauai, to use towards travel and other expenses for the national competition, in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Servco Foundation took on the role as Chief Investigator, the top-level sponsor of Mystery Night at the Settlement. The event is a fundraiser for Palama Settlement’s Pakolea Program, a youth sports initiative that emphasizes building character, athletic abilities, and academic success. Members of the community came out to watch “Hide and Seek,” a comedic murder mystery play set in the 1960’s, as an all-star cast portrayed key suspects. Teams who cracked the case were awarded with a prize, as everyone who attended played a role in raising funds for the community program.

Servco executives were freezin’ for a reason at the 2017 Polar Plunge for Special Olympics Hawaii. Mark Fukunaga, Rick Ching, Mike Nolan, Jeff Bell, and Craig Washofsky made a promise to their family, friends, and employees, to take the plunge down a 36-foot high, 95-foot long slide into 34-degree ice cold water, if they could reach their donation goal…and they delivered. The Team Servco quintet raised over $15,000, with the Servco Foundation, a silver sponsor of the event, contributing an additional $5,000 for a grand total of $20,000 for the Special Olympics Hawaii and its athletes. Subaru Hawaii Shares the Love with Six Local Nonprofits

Subaru Hawaii dealers donated $30,000 to six local nonprofits as part of its Share the Love sales campaign. Now in its sixth year, the campaign ran from November 1 st through December 31 st . During the annual sales event, Subaru Hawaii gives $250 for every new car sold up to $30,000, and the total is divided evenly between six nonprofits in Subaru's focus areas of learning, animals, and the environment. This year’s beneficiaries included Friends of the Library of Hawaii, Sustainable Coastlines Hawaii, Hawaii Island Humane Society, Hawaiian Humane Society, Maui Humane Society and Kauai Humane Society.

Toyota Hawaii Goes Green at the 2017 Sony Open

For the 12 th year in a row, Toyota Hawaii was on the roads and the green of the Waialae Country Club as the exclusive Automobile Sponsor of the Sony Open in Hawaii. Toyota Hawaii provided 60 vehicles to shuttle pro golfers around the island, and displayed the 2017 Prius, Rav4 Hybrid, Avalon Hybrid, Camry Hybrid, and Mirai FCV at the front of the Spectators' Village—in alignment with the tournament’s sustainability initiative. This eco-friendly atmosphere continued inside the Toyota Hawaii hospitality booth, where spectators could charge their phones and enjoy the shade while relaxing on furniture made completely from 100% recyclable materials. The event was a perfect fit for Toyota, which recently announced its goal to reduce vehicle CO₂ emissions by 90 percent in comparison with 2010 levels, by 2050.

Servco Pacific Insurance (SPI) Seattle teamed up with Vision House for its annual Giving Tree Project, to deliver $1,280 in donations from 49 employees, to the Seattle-based nonprofit agency that provides housing, support services and child care for homeless families with children. Since its founding in 1990, Vision House has assisted more than1,000 people in achieving financial stability, increasing employability, and mastering life skills.

Since 2008, Servco has partnered with Parents and Children Together (PACT) for their annual Giving Tree program, to make a difference for Hawaii’s children during the holidays. Gifts were hand-picked and wrapped by Servco employees, based on the wish list of a child, from infants to 17-years old. This year Servco gave its largest donation, with over 500 presents collected and given to PACT—a family service agency that has been helping to provide children with peaceful and safe environments in which to grow since 1968.

Servco Celebrates 2016 Toyota Technical Education Scholarship Winners

Toyota Hawaii today announced the winners of its annual Toyota Technical Education Scholarship. A partnership with Honolulu Community College’s Automotive Technology Program, students Isaiah Foo-Mitsunaga, Jeffrey Bryan Reyes, David Alvarado Jr., and Dansen Carvalho Jr. were this year’s winners, and will receive a monetary award to help with their college tuition, as well as an opportunity to become an employee at Servco. To qualify for the scholarship, applicants needed a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and be at least a second semester student in HCC’s Automotive Technology Associate of Science Degree Program. The scholarship program has been providing opportunities for HCC’s students for the past 25 years.

Toyota Hawaii donated 100 UH Athletics tickets and art supplies to keiki in Palama Settlement’s Pakolea Youth Sports Program. Through Pakolea, children are encouraged to participate in recreational sports to improve academic progress and behavioral change in school and at home. The athletics tickets can be used for free admission to 2016-2017 UH sporting events, and the art supplies were given to inspire Palama Settlement’s youth to imagine and enter their “dream car” drawings for the Toyota Dream Car Art Contest.

As the holiday season approaches, Toyota Hawaii and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) Hawaii honored members of the Hawaii Police Department at its annual Law Enforcement Awards. The awards ceremonies held on Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island, acknowledged the efforts and dedication of police officers to stop impaired driving, and supported the victims of this violent crime. Subaru Hawaii’s Pet Adoption Day took on a Holiday twist at the Hawaiian Humane Society’s Santa Paws event. Pets and their owners lined up to take festive pics with Santa and Mrs. Claus, as part of Subaru Hawaii’s Share the Love campaign. All adoption fees were waived and gift baskets were presented to each family who adopted an animal. 24 dogs, 10 cats and 2 bunnies were adopted on Oahu, with an additional 33 adoptions at the event on Maui.

Team Serve, Subaru Hawaii, and the Servco Foundation joined the Hawaiian Humane Society for their 26th Annual PetWalk held at Magic Island on Oahu. Thousands of pets and people came together for one common goal—to raise money to benefit our furry friends. Even Subaru Hawaii Ambassador Carissa Moore was there to support the cause with her own dog Tuffy! The Hawaiian Humane Society is one of Subaru Hawaii’s nonprofit partners for this year’s Share the Love sales event.

The Hawaiian Food Bank teamed up with the American Institute of Architects Honolulu and Subaru Hawaii for the 11th Annual Canstruction® competition, that raised 22,725 pounds of food for local families in need. This year’s theme, “Galacti-CAN-Goods!” was showcased in full force, as towering astronauts, aliens, and even Star Wars spaceships, were assembled at Pearlridge Center. Subaru Hawaii Sponsored the Kids Can Corner, where hundreds of keiki created their own Canstruction® Rocket.

Current world champion Moore will be featured in the company’s marketing efforts across the state. Moore is a great fit with the Subaru brand whose owners are active and passionate about causes ranging from the local environment to animals. Governor David Ige has only driven twice since he became the Governor of Hawaii and both times he drove the Toyota Mirai Hydrogen Fuel Cell Vehicle (FCV) – Toyota’s first zero emission production vehicle that boasts a 312-mile range and a 5-minute refueling time. Hawaii is the second state after California to receive the Mirai, Toyota’s first hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle (FCV).

Servco employees donate hundreds of backpacks, school supplies to Hawaii first-graders

Over the past two months, Servco Pacific employees have been collecting hundreds of new backpacks and filling them with crayons, markers, binders, pencil boxes, glue, composition books and more. The backpacks are being delivered to five Oahu elementary schools: Kuhio, Wahiawa, Kaimiloa, Fern and Keolu. This year marks the seventh anniversary of the Servco-employee school-supply drive. Different schools receive backpacks each year.

Servco was acknowledged for four out of the nine 2014 Spirit of Community Awards at the annual Aloha United Way (AUW) luncheon in April. The awards Servco won were the Eco-Friendly Award, Community Champion Award, Leaders in Giving Award, and the Most Significant Increase in Participation by a Large Company. In 2014, Servco employees Rod Saunders, Jason Alfiler, Ralph Sing Chow and Cynthia Torres co-chaired Team Servco’s internal campaign which encouraged employees to donate to AUW.

People’s Choice Voting Now Open for Toyota Hawaii’s 2015 Dream Car Art Contest

Toyota Hawaii announced that the People’s Choice voting will begin on February 23 via Facebook for Toyota Hawaii’s 2015 Dream Car Art Contest. Student artists 15 years old and under created original, hand-drawn illustrations of their “Dream Car.” Fans of the Toyota Hawaii Facebook page will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite entries until March 15, 2015. The artwork with the most votes in each age category at the end of the competition will be entered for final judging in the local competition.

Subaru Hawaii Presents $35,000 to Six Hawaii-Based Non Profits

Across the state, the Subaru Hawaii Dealers “Share the Love” sales event donated $35,000 total to six nonprofits:  Big Brothers Big Sisters Hawaii, Hawaiian Humane Society, Maui Humane Society, Kauai Humane Society, Hawaii Wildlife Fund and Hawaii Island Humane Society. The campaign donated $250 for every new vehicle sold by Subaru Hawaii dealers from November 1 to December 31, 2014, up to $30,000. In addition, the public voted for their favorite participating nonprofit organization on Subaru Hawaii’s Facebook page crowning Maui Humane Society as the winner earning them an additional $5,000.

75 Employees Serve Holiday Meals at the Family Programs Holiday Party

Servco Chevrolet sponsored the Hawaii Rush Soccer Club, a 700-member youth soccer organization based in Central Oahu, by donating $2,000 worth of fundraising raffle tickets for prizes such as a 2014 Chevy Traverse or a home entertainment package. The Subaru Dealers of Hawaii welcomed Oahu, Maui and Big Island residents to a statewide pet adoption and supply drive benefitting local animal shelters including the Oahu SPCA, SPCA Maui, Hawaii Animal Rescue Foundation, 9th Life, Feline Foundation, No Kill Maui, and Hawaii Island Humane Society on Saturday, May 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Many showed their support by adopting dogs and cats and donating much-needed pet supplies such as pet food, treats, blankets and towels.

Servco Auto Windward has donated factory specialty tools and automotive parts, valued at more than $204,000 to support the hands-on learning experience offered to students enrolled in Leeward Community College's automotive program. Servco Employees Participate in International Coastal Clean Up

Over 60 volunteers participated in the 26th Annual International Coastal Clean Up, known in Hawaii as "Get the Drift and Bag It." Over 411 pounds of trash was picked up in a two hour period which consisted of 2,959 cigarette butts and 971 bottle caps and/or lids.
